Purdue is called the Cradle of Astronauts. Twenty-seven of its
graduates have flown into space, including the first person to walk on the moon and the
last one to leave it.
And in 1935 the university hired a career counsellor for its women students,
and an adviser in aeronautics. Her name was Amelia Earhart. She spent two
years here telling students that the thing they were qualified for was not the thing on
their transcript.
And on the floor at Mackey, the Boilermakers
are one of the winningest programmes in the country. Not because of one player. Because of
a system, run the same way, year after year, that keeps producing.
Careers work the same way. This is the tool I use with the people I coach, for
the blank page before any of it. I called it Launchpad because at my school that word is not
a metaphor.
Nothing you type here ever reaches us.
No account, no sign in, no email address.
No cookies. Nothing is written to your browser, nothing is read from it.
No tracking, no analytics, no pixel, nobody counting you.
No artificial intelligence. Nothing you write trains anything, because nothing you write goes anywhere.
Nothing is stored. Not by us, not by your school. It lives on your screen and nowhere else.
Save the page and it is yours, offline, on your device alone.
This is standalone on purpose. If your career centre later chooses to connect it
to their own services, or lets you send yourself a copy, that is their decision and yours to
accept. Until somebody asks for it, it connects to nothing.

What this is. A coaching tool, built and used by F. Jay Hall, Sr., Purdue
graduate, in one-to-one work with the people he coaches. The colours and the history are his
own, as an alum. No Purdue mark, logo, crest or mascot has been drawn or recreated
here, and nothing on this page is affiliated with, produced by or endorsed by Purdue
University.
And it can be yours. If a careers office, a programme or an employer
wants this for their own people, they can have it. Their name, their colours, their links,
hosted by them or by us. Free, with no conditions and no account, and removable on request.
Close the tab and it is gone. There is no copy, anywhere, because one was
never made. Ethical and responsible AI here means the simplest version of it: we did not use
any, and we took nothing.
