Who we are

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone s reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

The Risk Program Management Office is a unique role that sits at the intersection of Operations, Go To Market (GTM), and Risk Compliance teams. Our mission is to enable users to seamlessly meet evolving compliance standards in a complex regulatory environment by bringing the right set of cross-functional stakeholders to enable their success. As an enablement function, we work with many teams including Operations, Product, Eng, GTM, and others.

We are expanding our scope into one of Stripe s most consequential strategic priorities and launching in new markets. This work is new, fast-moving, and high-ambiguity — and we re looking for someone who thrives in exactly that environment. If you enjoy working on high-impact projects on a global scale, building programs from the ground up, and operating at the intersection of compliance, strategy, and execution — you ll love this role.

What you’ll do

People Leadership

Recruit, train, and lead a global team of Program Managers; inspire, motivate, and enable individual development to promote career growth of direct reports.
Develop both the long-term vision and strategy for the team and drive progress toward key metrics.
Coach, mentor, and guide the team in program management and operations excellence.
Build a strong team culture across a distributed, multi-timezone environment.

New Markets Program Management

Own end-to-end program management for a large and growing portfolio of programs, with a focus on APAC.
Drive operational readiness across workstreams, tracking milestones, surfacing risks, and unblocking dependencies.
Navigate high ambiguity — this is a 0→1 space where you will be expected to figure out the right approach, not wait for one to be handed to you.
Build repeatable frameworks, playbooks, and reporting standards to support a growing and complex portfolio.

Cross-Functional Leadership

Serve as the senior Risk PMO voice in global forums, representing the team in senior-level conversations across Stripe with high judgment and accountability.
Provide critical coordination across Risk teams (Ops, Product, Engineering, Strategy, and others) to ensure alignment and execution.
Develop partnerships across Stripe teams (Legal, Finance, Treasury, Partnerships, Product).
Effectively work cross-functionally across the organization to shape Stripe s solutions; navigate competing priorities and ensure clear ownership at every stage of execution.
Partner closely with executive sponsors and cross-functional leadership with clarity and confidence.

Operations

Identify operational impact, gap assessments, and other operational considerations to launch in new markets.
Ensure operational readiness across a complex portfolio of programs, including forecasting, monitoring, and last-mile execution.
Maintain high operational rigor and execution discipline across your team and function.
Embody our Operating Principles and foster Stripe s values and culture.

Who you are

You are a seasoned people leader and strategic operator. You develop followership, write sharp 1-pagers, and present credibly to executive audiences — and your work serves as an inspiration to your team. You are comfortable not having all the answers; you bring rigorous thinking, sound business judgment, and a bias toward action to figure out the right path forward. There is no problem too large or small: you pride yourself on being a builder and a problem solver.

About risk management roles

Risk roles own the methodology for identifying, assessing, and escalating enterprise, operational, and technology risk. Second-line teams set risk appetite and challenge the first line. Roles like this one are typically evaluated against frameworks such as enterprise and operational risk frameworks, NIST AI RMF, and risk-appetite and escalation practices.

How to position yourself for this risk management role

Strong candidates emphasize risk assessment methodology, appetite and escalation, cross-functional partnership, and clear reporting to senior leadership and the board. In your resume and outreach, tie your experience to how Stripe would apply enterprise and operational risk frameworks, NIST AI RMF, and risk-appetite and escalation practices, and lead with concrete outcomes rather than duties.
