THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a INFORMATION SECURITY SPECIALIST (TITLE 5), Position Description Number T5538000 and is part of the IL DCSOPS, National Guard.
Qualifications: AREAS OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of consideration for this position, Title 5 Excepted Service, will be in the following manner and sequence: The FIRST area of consideration for this position will be candidates who match through the Priority Placement Program (PPP). The SECOND area of consideration will be all excepted TITLE 5 permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-11 Level - MUST possess the specialized experience, education, or training for the GS-11 Level, which includes 1 year at the lower grade, GS-09, in the Federal service in the normal line of progression for the occupation, Information Security Specialist. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: basic working knowledge on how to perform Special Security Representative duties and responsibilities in a Special Security Office; performs the day-to-day operational duties within the Special Security Office in support of all sensitive compartmented information-associated security programs and measures; research and analysis reports on physical, information, computer, and personnel security; experience in conducting intelligence support operations, procedures, and practices that are necessary to accomplish intelligence functions in support of programs essential to state National Guard daily operations, training, and readiness missions. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Verbiage displayed on your resume or application must contain your own words.
