You will serve as a IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) in the CYBERSECURITY SUPPORT DIVISION CODE 640, INFORMATION SYSTEMS DEPARTMENT CODE 600 of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.
Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: - Processing user account and access requests (i.e.System Authorization Access Request) by verifying information against checklists and established procedures. This includes tasks like confirming training completion, checking for required signatures, and escalating non-standard requests to senior staff. - Assisting senior specialists with cybersecurity audits by gathering and organizing compliance evidence (e.g., screenshots, log files) and documenting findings in a standardized format. - Supporting vulnerability management efforts by running pre-configured vulnerability scans using enterprise tools (such as ACAS) and compiling the raw output into a standard report for review by a senior analyst. - Providing basic technical support to users for common and well-documented cybersecurity issues. This includes tasks like responding to help desk tickets, following a Standard Operating Procedure to resolve routine problems (such as basic Public Key Infrastructure certificate issues), and escalating more complex incidents. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: The incumbent applies this competency when processing System Authorization Access Requests (SAARs) and other access forms, ensuring all information is accurate and complete. Attention to detail is also critical when reviewing system audit logs for anomalies and performing compliance checks against Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs). 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: This is applied when managing user access and addressing inquiries related to Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) token issuance. The incumbent uses this competency when serving as the initial triage point for cybersecurity trouble tickets, resolving common user issues, and providing foundational training support to the command. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: The incumbent applies this competency when explaining access requirements and procedures to users and system administrators. This skill is also used to provide clear, concise assistance during help desk triage and to support training and awareness campaigns. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: This is applied when identifying and correcting errors on SAAR forms to prevent processing delays. The incumbent uses this skill to resolve common, documented user issues at the help desk, such as basic PKI certificate errors. This includes tasks like responding to help desk tickets, following a Standard Operating Procedure to resolve routine problems (such as basic Public Key Infrastructure certificate issues), and escalating more complex incidents.
