How ExecSearches Built a New AI Governance Career Platform and Reached 10,000 Daily Organic Impressions in 90 Days
By F. Jay Hall, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, GRC Careers · September 8, 2026 · 9 min read
Most new sites publish into silence for a year. This one did not, and the question I keep being asked is how.
AI-Governance-Jobs.com went from virtually zero organic search visibility to approximately 10,000 daily organic impressions in 90 days. No advertising budget. No agency. No PR retainer. No outside investment. Not one cent was spent buying traffic.
The climb is steep and it is still going. Across 3 to 30 August, Google Search Console recorded 134,499 impressions, an average of 4,804 a day. Inside that single month the daily rate more than doubled, from 2,945 a day in the first week to 6,517 in the last, and it crossed 10,292 in a day on 28 August. It has kept climbing since.
I want to answer the question honestly, because the interesting part is not a tactic. It is a judgment call about where a profession was heading, made early enough to matter.
The advantage was not starting from scratch
The platform was new. The people were not.
ExecSearches has recruited nonprofit, education, government and healthcare leadership since 1999. That is 27 years of watching how employers describe a job they cannot fill, how candidates actually search, and why a specialist keeps failing to find the one role they are perfect for on a board with four million listings.
None of that is transferable as a checklist. It is transferable as instinct. When you have read ten thousand job descriptions you can tell, quickly, which titles are real and which are a committee's compromise. You know which credential an employer will actually insist on and which one they put in the posting because someone told them to.
We applied that to a field where the titles, the credentials and the career paths were all still being invented. The speed came from not having to learn the audience first.
We arrived at the moment the market stopped talking and started hiring
For two years, organizations discussed responsible AI. Then they began assigning it to a named person with a salary band.
That shift shows up in search before it shows up in headcount. People start asking specific, anxious, practical questions: what does an AI governance manager actually do, can I move into this from internal audit, which certification is worth the money, what does the EU AI Act mean for my job.
Those are not keywords. They are decisions someone is trying to make at eleven at night. We built the resource that answers each one.
The whole strategy in one line: get there while the questions are still being asked out loud, and answer them better than anyone.
Jobs were never the whole product
A job board gives you two doors. Search a job, or post one. Both assume you already know what you want.
In a profession this young, almost nobody does. So the platform carries career roadmaps, framework guides to the NIST AI Risk Management Framework and ISO/IEC 42001 and the EU AI Act, certification comparisons, job description templates, salary and transition guidance, and free practice question banks with flashcards. Alongside that sit hubs for fractional, consulting, project and RFP work, because a growing share of this expertise is not bought as a full-time hire.
Today that is 713 live roles and 613 resource pages, every listing reviewed by a person before it publishes. The homepage alone drew 21,019 impressions in that 28-day window, and the EU AI Act jobs hub another 7,963.
The breadth gave search engines many honest reasons to surface the site. More importantly, it gave people a reason to come back on a day when they were not ready to apply for anything. That is the visit most job boards never get, because they only open for business at the very end of a process that takes eighteen months.
The unglamorous part: we made the inventory legible to machines
Every job page carries structured data describing the title, the hiring organization, the location, whether it is remote, the employment type, the salary range, when it was posted and when it expires.
That does not buy a ranking and anyone who tells you it does is selling something. What it does is remove ambiguity. A search engine never has to guess what our page is about, and a good-faith salary range is required on every posting, so the data is there to read rather than hidden behind an application form.
We also publish the whole job feed as an open API and an RSS feed, with an embeddable widget, so other sites can carry our listings. Most boards guard their inventory because the inventory is the product. Here it is meant to travel.
Free tools, and why giving away the exam prep is the business model
The certification banks hold 652 practice questions and 372 flashcards across eleven exams and frameworks, including AIGP, CISSP, CIPM, CGEIT, CHC, CPA, FRM, GSEC, and readiness banks for the EU AI Act, the NIST AI RMF and ISO/IEC 42001. They run in the browser. No account, no email, no payment, nothing stored on a server.
People ask why we give that away. The answer is a supply problem, not a marketing one.
The constraint in this field is not that employers cannot find a job board. It is that there are not enough qualified people. A board that only lists roles inherits that shortage. A board that helps people qualify does something about it.
The candidate using the free practice bank this month is the shortlist in eighteen months. That is the entire thesis, and it is why none of it sits behind a paywall.
A small team of practitioners, not a content department
The platform runs inside a shared network alongside ExecSearches.com, Nonprofit-Jobs.org and GRC-Careers.org. Seven people, none of them full time on it, none paid by an investor.
- F. Jay Hall, Sr., Founder and Chief Executive Officer. Executive search, career coaching and the technology, plus the search-visibility work behind this growth.
- Stephan Paul Pochet, Co-founder and VP of Operations. A practicing GRC professional, not a former one. SOX and regulatory audits for Citi, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and McKesson.
- Louise Bertrand, VP, Governance, Risk, Compliance, Internal Audit and Training. Institutional risk and internal audit strategy at Harvard, internal audit at Columbia, outsourced internal audit at KPMG. CISA, CIA, CHC, CRMC.
- Karen Alphonse, VP, Policy, Regulatory Compliance and Candidate Development. Columbia Law, Harvard. Equitable hiring as applied technique rather than statement of values.
- Katherine S. O'Donnell, Executive Communications Strategist, and co-founder of Beyond Résumé.
- Sabine de Leissegues, Directrice Marketing Monde, writing and working in French from Bordeaux.
- Jonathan Malchow Vega, Director of Digital Strategy, based in Spain. Spain stood up the first dedicated AI supervisory agency in the Union, so the European regulatory picture reaches us from someone living inside it.
The measurable output here, the volume and the speed, is what a staffed content team used to produce. The judgment about what to publish and why is entirely human, and it comes from people who have run the audits, led the searches and sat the exams. They are practitioners, not writers hired to sound like practitioners. That is why the material reads the way it does.
Human review became the position, not the overhead
We launched into a market filling up with automated aggregation and mass-produced text. The response was not to reject the technology. It was to be clear about where a person still has to decide.
Every job is reviewed before it publishes. Candidate data is not sold and is not used to train anything. Nobody is screened out by an algorithm.
For a platform serving the people responsible for governance, risk and assurance, being able to describe your own controls is not a marketing flourish. It is the minimum.
What 90 days actually proves
It does not prove every page ranked immediately, and it does not prove one tactic did the work. There was no trick and there is no shortcut to sell you.
What it proves is narrower and more useful. A focused platform can earn real visibility fast when it enters a category at the moment demand appears, knows the audience from having recruited in it for decades, answers the questions people are actually asking, and gives them something worth having before asking for anything back.
No viral article. No lucky post. It was planned before anything was published, prepared as a structure rather than a stack of posts, and executed by people who already knew the field. The speed is a consequence of the preparation.
From job board to career infrastructure
The story is not that another job site launched. It is that AI governance became a distinct profession, and somebody started building the infrastructure that profession needed while it was still forming.
Ten thousand daily impressions inside 90 days is the visible part. The part that matters is that they were earned by being useful at the exact moment a new professional community went looking for direction.
AI-Governance-Jobs.com is operated by GRC Careers, LLC and built by the team behind ExecSearches.com, connecting professionals and employers across governance, risk, compliance, privacy, cybersecurity, audit and AI governance. Impression figures are taken directly from Google Search Console for 3 to 30 August 2026 and are offered for verification on request. Site counts were taken from the public site on 8 September 2026.
Frequently Asked Questions
How did AI-Governance-Jobs.com grow so fast without advertising?
It entered a professional category at the moment demand appeared, and it was built by people who had recruited in adjacent fields since 1999 rather than by people learning the audience from scratch. The site was planned as a connected structure before anything was published, and it pairs job listings with free career guides, framework resources and practice question banks, which gives people a reason to visit long before they are ready to apply.
Is 10,000 daily organic impressions in 90 days normal for a new website?
No. New sites in recruiting typically spend around eighteen months earning trust before organic traffic moves at all, which is why most new entrants in the category buy their way in with paid search and paid placement. Google Search Console recorded 134,499 impressions across 3 to 30 August 2026 alone, with the daily rate more than doubling inside that month, from 2,945 a day to 6,517, and crossing 10,292 in a single day on 28 August.
Why does the site give away certification practice questions for free?
Because the constraint in AI governance hiring is a shortage of qualified people, not a shortage of job boards. A board that only lists roles inherits that shortage. Giving away 652 practice questions and 372 flashcards across eleven exams helps people qualify, and the candidate studying this month is the shortlist in eighteen months.
Are the job listings scraped from other sites?
No. Every listing is reviewed by a person before it publishes, and a good-faith salary range is required on every posting under a published pay-transparency policy.
Who is behind AI-Governance-Jobs.com?
It is operated by GRC Careers, LLC and built by the team behind ExecSearches.com, which has recruited nonprofit, education, government and healthcare leadership since 1999. The seven-person team spans executive search, internal audit, enterprise risk, regulatory compliance, communications, marketing and digital strategy, working from the United States, France and Spain.
What is structured job data and why does it matter?
It is machine-readable information attached to each job page describing the title, hiring organization, location, remote status, employment type, salary range, posting date and expiry. It does not buy a ranking. It removes ambiguity, so a search engine never has to guess what a page is about.
