Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) Analyst
Alignerr is hiring for the role of Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) Analyst, Remote. This is a Compliance role in the governance, risk, and compliance field, with a posted range of $30 - $55/hour. Review the full details below and apply directly with Alignerr.
Alignerr is partnering with the world's leading AI research labs to build smarter, safer AI, and is looking for experienced GRC practitioners to help AI systems reason about security, risk, and compliance the way real professionals do. This is a flexible, remote, freelance contract role (10 to 40 hours per week) where your domain knowledge directly shapes how frontier AI understands governance, risk, and compliance.
What you'll do: review and analyze security policies, controls, and procedures to evaluate AI-generated outputs; classify and assess compliance scenarios across frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, and NIST; evaluate risk statements, control mappings, and audit-style documentation for accuracy and quality; generate and validate training and evaluation data that helps AI systems reason about GRC topics; and provide structured, precise written feedback using defined evaluation criteria. You work independently and asynchronously on your own schedule.
Fully remote and flexible, set your own hours, with weekly payouts and potential for ongoing work and contract extension.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in GRC, compliance, information security, or risk management
- Familiar with one or more major frameworks: SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, PCI DSS, or similar
- Comfortable reading and interpreting policy documents, audit reports, and control frameworks
- Detail-oriented with strong written reasoning skills
- Self-motivated and able to manage your own workload remotely
- Nice to have: data annotation or AI evaluation workflows; internal audit, third-party risk, or security assessments; GRC platforms or risk tooling
Location and market context
This is a remote compliance role, so it draws from a national talent pool rather than a single metro. Remote governance and compliance roles reward candidates who can show they work effectively across time zones and distributed legal, security, and product teams. Confirm any residency, travel, or occasional-onsite expectations directly with Alignerr.
About compliance roles
Compliance programs turn law, regulation, and policy into controls the business can actually run. Demand is strongest where regulatory change, enforcement risk, and new technology intersect. Roles like this one are typically evaluated against frameworks such as relevant regulatory frameworks, control libraries, and audit and monitoring practices.
How to position yourself for this compliance role
Strong candidates emphasize building and monitoring controls, regulatory mapping, policy and training, and partnering with the business to make compliance practical. In your resume and outreach, tie your experience to how Alignerr would apply relevant regulatory frameworks, control libraries, and audit and monitoring practices, and lead with concrete outcomes rather than duties.
