Head of Anti Money Laundering-Counter Terrorist Financing

As the Head of Anti Money Laundering-Counter Terrorist Financing you will lead a team responsible for ensuring Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), and regulatory compliance requirements are consistently applied across the organization. You will oversee operational processes, establish robust controls, monitor risk exposures, and ensure all activities align with internal policies, regulatory standards, and industry best practices. The role requires strong leadership to drive operational excellence, enhance team capability, and maintain a high standard of compliance and governance. You will be responsible for evaluating and managing financial crime risks, implementing quality assurance frameworks, and identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness. Working closely with compliance, risk, and business stakeholders, you will provide guidance on complex AML matters, support regulatory and audit reviews, and make sound decisions on risk assessment and escalation. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to exercise independent judgment in a fast-paced and highly regulated environment. Position Responsibilities Lead and manage compliance activities to ensure business operations follow internal policies, regulations, and industry standards. Partner closely with business and compliance teams to identify risks and provide practical compliance solutions. Support the development, implementation, and review of policies and procedures. Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on compliance matters and regulatory requirements. Conduct compliance assessments, investigations, and analysis on complex regulatory issues. Deliver compliance training and awareness programs for employees. Prepare compliance reports and provide recommendations to management. Lead or contribute to cross-functional and strategic projects. Engage with regulators, auditors, and industry working groups when required. Ensure compliance documentation and governance processes are well maintained. Collaborate across departments to balance business objectives with regulatory requirements. Required Qualifications Bachelor s Degree in Business, Law, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field Minimum 15 years of experience in Compliance, Risk, Legal, Audit, Financial Services, or a related function Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance practices within the financial services industry Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decisions across different business functions Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of assessing complex issues and providing practical solutions Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and a commitment to high ethical standards Comfortable leading change initiatives and driving continuous improvement Preferred Qualifications Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills When you join our team: We’ll empower you to learn and grow the career you want.
