IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC)

This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure.

Qualifications: In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. Basic Requirements: Applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the following four competencies, which are essential for immediate success in this position. Your resume must show evidence of: 1. Attention to Detail Thoroughness when performing work and conscientiousness about attending to detail. 2. Customer Service Working with clients and customers (any individuals who use or receive the services or products of your work unit, including internal agency personnel, external agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess needs, provide assistance, resolve problems, and satisfy expectations; commitment to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication Expressing information (ideas, technical concepts, or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information; making clear and convincing oral presentations; listening actively and responding appropriately. 4. Problem Solving Identifying problems; determining the accuracy and relevance of information; using sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives and making actionable recommendations. Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-13 grade level, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level (GS/GG-12) in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: (1) Providing technical support or guidance related to information systems security; OR (2) applying information system security principles, concepts, and methods; OR (3) managing IT projects; AND (4) IT-related experience demonstrating Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving as described in the vacancy announcement.
