Nissan is a pioneer in Innovation and Technology. With a focus on Mobility, Operational Excellence, Value to our Customers and Electrification of vehicles, you can expect to be part of a very exciting journey here at Nissan. Nissan is going after a massive Digital Transformation backed by leading technologies across the organization globally. We are committed to building a diverse, entrepreneurial organization, and our current team is a strong evidence of that. Our people are what drive the business forward. At Nissan Digital, you will be part of a dynamic team with ample opportunities to grow and make a difference. Role Overview Nissan’s AMIEO region is accelerating the maturity of its data governance and regulatory readiness across domains such as vehicle data, aftersales, supply chain, and customer experience. This role is central to enabling Nissan’s ability to meet enterprise-wide data quality standards, comply with evolving EU and global regulations, and embed policy-driven data practices into digital operations. As part of a lean, outcome-oriented team, the consultant will act as a functional and coordination lead across data quality, policy definition, and regulatory assurance. This is a value-driven role, not a heavy commercial engagement, and will work closely with Nissan’s internal experts, legal, and business owners to deliver measurable improvements without requiring high consulting overheads. Key Responsibilities: 1. Data Quality Management Define, refine, and institutionalize enterprise-wide data quality standards (accuracy, completeness, consistency, timeliness). Design and roll out data quality scorecards and dashboards aligned to AMIEO business KPIs. Drive root-cause analysis and remediation workflows in coordination with business data owners and stewards. Establish a sustainable issue management and escalation framework for recurring quality gaps. 2. Policy & Standards Development Support the creation and continuous improvement of Nissan’s enterprise data policies (e.g. privacy, lifecycle management, metadata handling). Embed governance checkpoints and policies into digital delivery and transformation frameworks. Design simple playbooks, guides, and training sessions to enhance awareness and adoption of data best practices across functions. Collaborate with central data governance teams in Japan and other regions to ensure harmonization and avoid redundancy. 3. Regulatory & Compliance Readiness Support Nissan’s implementation of EU Data Act, GDPR, and upcoming AI Act across applicable use cases (e.g. vehicle data sharing, AI model traceability). Liaise with Nissan’s legal, audit, and risk functions to map responsibilities and action plans. Assist in maintaining Nissan’s compliance posture: create documentation, audit support, and breach preparedness materials. Help define compliant data-sharing processes with third parties, partners, and regulators, especially in relation to vehicle, user, and telemetry data. Key Qualifications 6–10 years of experience in data governance, regulatory compliance, or data quality roles, ideally within automotive, manufacturing, or tech sectors. Familiarity with frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK, ISO 8000, EU Data Act, GDPR, and AI governance frameworks. Good understanding of modern data architecture—ideally AWS, Snowflake, Microsoft Purview/Fabric. Proven track record of working in cross-functional environments with business, legal, and data teams. Comfortable operating in lean, high-accountability roles with limited external dependencies Trivandrum Kerala India

About data governance roles

Data governance establishes ownership, quality, and controls over data as an asset. It is foundational to trustworthy analytics and AI, spanning cataloging, lineage, and access. Roles like this one are typically evaluated against frameworks such as data management frameworks, data quality and lineage standards, and privacy and security controls.

How to position yourself for this data governance role

Strong candidates emphasize data ownership and stewardship, quality and lineage, catalog and access controls, and enabling analytics and AI on a trusted data foundation. In your resume and outreach, tie your experience to how Nissan would apply data management frameworks, data quality and lineage standards, and privacy and security controls, and lead with concrete outcomes rather than duties.
