You will serve as a LEAD IT SPECIALIST (CYBERSECURITY/NETWORK) in the NAVAL AIR SYSTEM COMMAND (NAVAIR) of FLEET READINESS CENTER WESTERN PACIFIC. ***ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED. Please see Additional Information section below.***

FACTOR: BASIC REQUIREMENT: Applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating the following four competencies as defined below: - Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency must include: Collects, organizes, and evaluates, at the strategic level, information processed within the command. - Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Consult with appropriate customer personnel and refines ore revises strategic level projects and information systems. - Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: providing expert technical advice on critical information environment mission and information system issues. - Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Adopting and implementing new, innovative approaches, and responding to persistent cyber threats; and managing Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) compliance. In addition to the experience demonstrating the four competencies, you resume must demonstrate at least have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: developing, configuring, installation and maintenance of network systems, including local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) and performing routine network configuration management functions for continuous availability of the organization's LAN.
