PROGRAM ANALYST (STRATEGIC RISK)

About the Position: Serves as a Strategic Risk Program Analyst for the Office of Defense Economics, US Africa Command (AFRICOM), responsible for analyzing the impacts of strategic economic risks on security dynamics in the African region.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service which includes: 1) analyzing strategic economic, geoeconomic, or commercial trends to identify risks and advise on defense or national security policies; 2) collaborating with interagency partners, foreign allies, or private sector organizations to build strategic partnerships or address economic security challenges; AND 3) evaluating program resource allocations or monitoring budgets and expenditures to support mission execution and operational planning. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
