Senior Associate - Model Validation and AI Governance

New York Life is hiring a Senior Associate within its Artificial Intelligence & Data organization to validate AI and machine learning models. The role reviews model design decisions, conducts parallel validation testing, challenges developer assumptions, and builds alternative models when needed, working closely with the Model Risk Management team to translate regulatory requirements into practical testing protocols.

Beyond initial validation, the role emphasizes post-deployment monitoring, establishing drift and bias detection criteria aligned with business KPIs and operationalizing alerts. The position also involves documenting findings in executive-friendly reports and contributing to organization-wide templates, playbooks, and test frameworks across predictive, generative, and agentic AI systems. This is a hybrid role requiring three days per week on-site in New York.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or related quantitative field
• 4+ years of model validation, governance, or risk management experience in regulated environments
• Hands-on expertise with statistical modeling and ML algorithms (regression, GBM/XGBoost, neural networks)
• Proficiency in Python and SQL
• Strong technical writing and cross-functional communication skills
