Senior Privacy Counsel

Verkada, a physical security technology company offering cloud-based hardware and software, is hiring a Senior Privacy Counsel to help build its global privacy and AI programs. The role includes developing and leading the company's AI framework and governance program and providing privacy legal advice to Product and Engineering teams.

Responsibilities include developing and maintaining form agreements supporting the Privacy Program; advising on transactions involving privacy, data sharing, biometrics, and AI/ML; counseling stakeholders on privacy incidents; and assisting with responses to global regulators. The position is based at Verkada's San Mateo, CA headquarters and is in-office.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an ABA-approved law school
• 8+ years of relevant privacy experience (preferably 4+ years in-house at a B2B technology company)
• Expertise in data privacy, biometrics, and AI/ML regulations
• Experience advising multinational, complex, fast-growing companies with hardware and software offerings
