Supervisory Information Technology Specialist (Information Security)

This position is located in the Technology Office under Rural Development (RD). The Supervisory Information Technology Specialist (Information Security) position serves as the Deputy Assistant Chief Information Officer (DACIO) of RD; who is responsible for managing divisions responsible for the design, development and release of technology systems for all enterprise business functions and its maintenance. Qualifications: Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including time-in-grade restrictions, and specialized experience as defined below: Time in Grade GS-15: Current federal employees applying for a promotion opportunity must meet the time in grade requirement of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level (GS-14) in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. Specialized experience is defined as: Experience providing strategic and day-to-day leadership to an application support focused team, fostering collaboration, driving technical excellence, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. -Served as senior risk executive for RMF/ATO decisions, implementing NIST SP 800-53 controls, continuous monitoring, and POA&M management improving FISMA maturity for the organization. - Experience providing people-focused leadership grounded in accountability, fostering a culture where team members are empowered, supported, and responsible for delivering high-quality outcomes. -Built coalitions across business programs, privacy, and procurement offices to accelerate delivery; reduced cross-functional blockers and improved stakeholder satisfaction. There is no substitution of education for experience at the GS-15 level. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
