THIS IS AN AIR NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION UNIT: 148TH LOCATION: DULUTH, MN SELECTING OFFICIAL: Col Grant Brown, Comm: 218-788-7250, DSN: 825-7250 AIR NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED Appointment is subject to 2 year trial period IAW EO 14284
Qualifications: In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. MILITARY GRADES: E4/SrA - E7/MSgt Your rank must be included in your application. Failure to obtain a compatible AFSC may result in termination of employment. GENERAL AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS: GS-5 through GS-15 (or equivalent): For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Experience, education, and/or training that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process. Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems. Specialized Experience for GS-7 (or equivalent) and Above: Positions at GS-7 (or equivalent) and above require one year of specialized experience at the next lower GS-grade (or equivalent). Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT and Cybersecurity. The employing agency is responsible for defining the specialized experience based on the requirements of the position being filled. GS-12 and above - At least 1-year of specialized experience in Cybersecurity equivalent to at least the next lower grade of GS11. Experience requirements: Resume must have complete dates, work schedule, and/or hours worked per week for both civilian and military employment. (Example: 2 JAN 1980 to 3 MAR 1981; 0800-1630 M-F or JAN 1980 to MAR 1981; 40 hrs/wk) Use of year only and unspecified work schedule will result in disqualification. Each applicant must fully substantiate -in their own words- that they meet 100% of the minimum requirements and specialized experience listed above in detail; otherwise, the applicant will be considered unqualified for this position. May be required to successfully complete a probationary period. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. The individual selected must be assigned to a compatible military position and must also maintain satisfactory membership in the Minnesota Air National Guard. Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
