About the GRC Manager job
The GRC manager is the engine room of the whole field, the person who actually builds and runs the program: the frameworks, the audits, the third-party risk, the SOC 2 and ISO and NIST work that keeps a company defensible. It is the role that scales fastest across tech, financial services, and security companies, and the most common on-ramp to the senior GRC seats above it.
BLS put the 2024 median at $78,420. In 2026, market trackers show averages from roughly $99,000 to $120,000, with the top quartile above $160,000. Financial centers and senior governance roles sit at the top of that range.
