AI Impact Assessment Skills

An AI impact assessment examines a proposed system in context: who is affected, what decision is influenced, what benefits are expected, what harms are plausible, and whether safeguards are sufficient. Skills include use-case definition, stakeholder analysis, data-flow review, rights and harm analysis, risk scenario development, control evaluation, consultation, documentation, and approval design.
The assessment should shape decisions, not merely justify a project already chosen. Prove competence by assessing a hiring, healthcare, lending, education, or public-benefit use case. Identify affected groups, data sources, automation level, appeal mechanisms, testing, human oversight, monitoring, residual risk, and conditions for deployment.
